FARE Kids Who Care

Honoring Our Mothers: From the Teen Advisory Group

Mother’s Day is a special time to honor and celebrate all the mothers in our lives. Food allergy moms do so much every day to keep their children safe, to educate, to advocate, and to raise awareness of food allergies. Their passion and love do not go unnoticed. This year, FARE asked members of our Teen Advisory Group to share messages for their own moms.

Thank you, Mom, for always being the room parent and going on all of my field trips in elementary school! Thank you for always looking out for me and training me to read labels!  Love, Rebecca Fallick

Mama, thank you for everything: from baking me many safe, special treats when I was younger to standing up for me in every situation as I’ve grown up. You are the best and I am so incredibly grateful to have you as a mom. Your support and love mean the world to me and I will always see you as my truest role model.  Love, Emily King

Thank you for all that you have done to keep me in check and be aware of my surroundings so that I am fortunate enough to not have an allergic reaction. Without you, I would have already had one. You have taught me not to use my allergy as an excuse to not do certain things but to accept it and move past it. I am very thankful for how much thought you put into my allergies every day. In many situations, you have helped me even though I didn’t think so at the time. Love, Dylan Deitrick

Happy Mother’s day, Mom. Thank you for always being there for my brother and me and for putting up with our nonsense. Here’s to you. Love, Daniel Kogan

Thank you, Mom, for all you have done with my allergies. You have always been trying to learn and study allergies to know what is best for me. Thank you, Mom. I love you!! Love, Ben Stack

Thank you, Mom, for being my number one food allergy supporter! You’ve always made sure I’ve had not only safe food but great food. Thank you for diligently reading labels, researching allergy-friendly restaurants and vacations, advocating for me, and then when I was old enough, teaching me to do all of those things for myself. Love, Andrea Schmidt

Thank you, Mom, for helping me through all of my food allergy difficulties. When I came to an idea dead-end, you would come up with five other options for me to pick so I could make the best decision. For all of that, thanks for being my mom, and a great supporter of me and my food allergies. Love, Daytona Hodson

Thank you so much for helping me deal with my food allergies over the years. I would not be the self-advocate that I am today without your guidance. You are always there to talk about the physical as well as the emotional adversities that come with food allergies. Thank you so much! I love you greatly. Love, Claudia Pagnozzi

Thank you so much, Mom, for always being there to talk to whenever I’m feeling blue. I know that I can always count on you to cheer me on, no matter what I’m doing. You’re always there to make sure I’m safe, and I love you so much! Love, Michael Mandanas

You can celebrate the mothers in your life by making a gift in their honor to FARE. We will send a personalized message to announce your gift in her honor.

Happy Mother’s Day to you and your family from all of us at FARE!
