25 Non-food Treats Kids Like Just as Much as Candy

Offering treats on Halloween that aren’t candy or food promotes inclusion for trick-or-treaters with food allergies or other conditions. It’s a simple act that means so much.

Here are 25 ideas for food-free treats:

  • Glow sticks, bracelets, or necklaces
  • Pencils, pens, crayons or markers
  • Bubbles
  • Halloween erasers or pencil toppers
  • Whistles, kazoos, or noisemakers
  • Bouncy balls
  • Finger puppets or novelty toys
  • Coins
  • Spider rings
  • Vampire fangs
  • Mini notepads
  • Playing cards
  • Bookmarks
  • Stickers
  • Stencils
  • Friendship bracelets
  • Silly straws

Try to choose latex-free items, as there are children who have latex allergies.

  1. How can you tell a child who has allergies and others that do not?
I have some ( maybe 30 ) non-food items to give on Halloween Night and want to know how to tell the child who would benefit from a ” Halloween Prize ” ? Is there some identifying symbol / mark or something I should be looking for?
